Stroller & Pram Fitting-List Service at JMDA
JMDA Vehicle Compatibility Services has expanded providing a new and unique vehicle fitting-list service to those designing, manufacturing and selling prams and strollers: a fitting-guide for car luggage areas.
JMDA Design is well-known throughout the industry for its unique ‘vehicle compatibility services’ and is now expanding this specialised service into the realm of other baby and toddler products. Prams and strollers are bulky items and knowing whether they fit into a consumer’s car is never certain, particularly when this cannot be physically tested before purchase.
Just as with any child restraint system (CRS), a fitting-list proves a valuable guide and with the inexorable rise in online sales, especially during the recent restrictions, having such a fitting-guide is increasingly important to both consumers and retailers and helps ensure customer satisfaction, reduces the number of returns and decreases waste.
Chris Raynor, Head of CRS Compatibility Services at JMDA says “Passenger-car luggage areas or boots/trunks are usually measured in litres but knowing what ‘usable’ space is actually available and whether a square-shaped boot can fit a rectangular-folded pram or stroller is an important part of making life easier for busy parents – so a handy guide for the many prams & strollers in passenger-cars can only be a good thing for manufacturers, retailers and consumers.”.
The EMEA region is currently covered by this new service, but it will be expanded into other markets in due course, so while the movement restrictions across Europe means the database is expanding less quickly there are already over 100 new & used cars in the database. This covers a range of passenger-cars in Europe: superminis to SUVs and most types of family-cars in between. By focussing on the high-selling vehicles in each category and, where possible, the relevant range of vehicles in popular brands, the data can provide a good overall picture of compatibility and fitment in the market. This database will cover more and more vehicles over time and the aim is to include as many older vehicles as possible, availability permitting, as the average age of a car in Europe is 5-7 years.
