JMDA Make Brake Their Chosen Charity for 2018
In line with JMDA’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and in a bid to raise awareness of the importance of using child restraint systems (C.R.S), the team have chosen to make Brake the company’s chosen charity for 2018.
Set up in 1995, Brake is a national road safety charity working with communities and organisations across the UK to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries. Their aim is to make streets and communities safer, and support people bereaved and seriously injured on the country’s roads. According to Brake’s website, as vulnerable road users, it is essential that children are restrained appropriately when in a vehicle. Their undeveloped frames are open to severe injuries and ill-prepared to absorb the violent crash forces of a vehicular impact. Appropriate child restraints are designed to distribute crash forces with minimal damage to the soft tissues, cradle the vulnerable head and neck of the child and restrict their movement during and after impact.
Passionate about the safety of children whilst in vehicles, JMDA are an award winning product design consultancy specialising in the design and development of innovative child restraint systems to protect children when in vehicles. The company’s 30 years’ experience in the industry and specialist knowledge of complex car seat safety regulation and compatibility puts JMDA ahead of their global competitors.
Talking of the team’s action-packed fundraising calendar for the year ahead, JMDA’s Marketing Manager Christina Darling explains; “With over 30 years’ experience in the CRS industry, it seems only natural for us to choose a UK charity who actively promotes road safety awareness and safe and sustainable road use as our chosen charity for 2018.” She adds, “We are very excited for the year ahead and have a series of fun and inclusive events already planned for the year which will generate awareness and much needed funds for Brake which can be used to support people across the UK devastated by road death and serious injury.”
Along with ‘Bake For Brake’ in February and a challenging Zip Wire experience in the Welsh countryside for the thrill seekers amongst the team, JMDA look forward to a series of other fundraising challenges planned throughout the year and will promote Brake’s various campaigns throughout their social media pages.
