Emma’s Marathon run for the Charity Wooden Spoon
We’re delighted that our very own Design Engineer Emma Harris, will be running the Edinburgh Marathon later this month, in aid of the rugby charity Wooden Spoon.
The marathon takes place on the 29th May and the 26.2-mile course takes in plenty of historic and cultural sites on offer in the city. Hoping to raise over £500, Emma said: “As a keen runner for a number of years I decided it was time to push myself and enter a marathon all in the name of a good cause.” In their 25th year in business, JMDA Design have become corporate sponsors of the children’s charity and are planning fundraising events throughout the year. Supporting Emma in the Marathon run is just one way JMDA Design hope to raise money for the charity.
Emma explains… “As corporate sponsors of Wooden Spoon, JMDA Design are supporting me through the training process and raising money to aid local projects in the Worcestershire area. Respite and medical treatment centres, sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds, sports activity areas and community based programmes, are all ways Wooden Spoon support the local community.”
“As we develop products that ensure the health and wellbeing of children, I therefore feel very close to the work that the Wooden Spoon carry out. I’ve had such great support from everyone, it will really help me push myself through those last few miles on the day – thank you and wish me luck!”
Derrick Barker, Managing Director of JMDA, said: “We’re very proud of Emma’s efforts to raise money for Wooden Spoon. Please get behind her and sponsor Emma through her Just Giving page by clicking here.”
